My name is Koku Joel Afetse and I am an electrical engineering student from Iowa state. Throughout my time at the university, I have gained extensive hands-on project experience, along with professional experience through my work in software engineering during my internships.

My interest in engineering developed from a desire to understand how complex systems operate and how software can be used to control and improve physical processes. As I progressed through my studies, I became particularly interested in the integration of controls systems, computer engineering (IT) and I have tailored my academic and project work toward this intersection.

Through experiences ranging from software simulations to hardware-focused implementation and PLC programming, I have developed a strong interest in both control systems and software engineering. I enjoy designing and building systems that combine reliable control logic with well-structured, efficient software, ensuring they are secure, robust, and scalable. I am particularly interested in developing solutions that improve the performance, efficiency, and resilience of modern infrastructure.

In my career, I aim to contribute to the development of advanced engineering systems that integrate control, automation, and software development. I want to apply both my analytical and programming skills to design intelligent, reliable solutions that address real-world challenges and operate effectively in complex environments.
